Swapsy Terms of Use
Last updated 17 October 2026
For riders in the UK
Version 1.1. These terms take effect on 11 October 2026.
Swapsy is run by SteadyGen Ltd. These terms are the rules for using the Swapsy app. Please read them. If you don't agree with them, please don't create an account. If you already have an account, section 20 explains what changed in this version.
The short version
This summary helps you find your way around. The full terms below are what count.
- Swapsy introduces riders. Riders swap bikes, or sell them at a fixed price. Any swap or sale is between you and the other rider. We aren't part of it, and we never handle the money.
- You must be 18 or over, and a private rider. Motor traders and dealers can't use Swapsy, and you can have up to 3 bikes for sale at once. Swapsy is UK only.
- Only list your own bike, and describe it honestly. That includes the MOT, the V5C, any finance, any damage, and whether it's road legal.
- Pay face to face, at the handover. Pay in cash, or by bank transfer while you're together. Never pay a deposit, or anything before you've seen the bike. Prices and cash top-ups can be up to £20,000. Swapsy doesn't take, hold or protect money.
- The app writes your first request. You can chat once the other rider replies. A request closes if there's no reply within 7 days.
- Do your own checks. Swapsy doesn't run history, finance, theft or MOT checks, and never says a bike is "verified".
- Meet somewhere public. Check the V5C or proof of purchase, the frame number and the rider's photo ID. Only test ride with your own insurance, and don't hand over the keys until the money is with you.
- Swapsy is free during early access. We'll give you notice before any fee starts.
1. Who we are
Swapsy is an app made by SteadyGen Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17441777).
- Registered office: 47 Norris Close, St. Albans, AL2 1UN
- Email: info@steadygen.co.uk
- Website: steadygen.co.uk
- ICO registration number: ZC270943
"We", "us" and "Swapsy" mean SteadyGen Ltd. "You" means the person using the app.
2. What Swapsy is, and what it isn't
Swapsy helps riders find each other so they can swap bikes, or buy and sell them at a fixed price. In a swap, cash can be added where one bike is worth more than the other. You list your bike, browse other riders' bikes, send and answer requests, chat and arrange a meetup, all in the app.
Swapsy is not a party to any swap or sale. Any deal is between you and the other rider. When you sell a bike through Swapsy, you sell it to the buyer, not to us, and we don't act for either of you. In particular, we:
- don't own, buy, sell, see, inspect or test any bike;
- don't check who riders are, beyond asking them to verify their email address and confirm they're 18 or over;
- don't check ownership, finance, MOT, write-off or theft records, or frame numbers;
- don't take, hold, pass on or protect any money, including the price of a sale and any cash top-up in a swap;
- don't guarantee that any rider, bike or listing is what it claims to be, or that a deal will go ahead.
What isn't in this version of the app. There are no in-app payments or payment protection, and no vehicle history checks. Nothing in the app marks a bike or a rider as "verified". We plan to add in-app payment protection and an MOT history check later. When we do, we'll update these terms. Until then, nothing in the app should be read as offering any of them.
3. Who can use Swapsy
Anyone can browse bikes without an account. To list a bike, send or answer requests, or chat, you need an account, and:
- You must be 18 or over. You confirm this when you sign up. Swapsy is for adults only.
- You must be a private rider swapping or selling your own bikes. Motor traders and dealers may not use Swapsy. If you buy, sell or swap bikes as a business, or on behalf of one, please don't create an account. We may close accounts that are used for trade (see also section 5).
- You may have one account. Don't create a second account, share an account, or open a new one after we've suspended you.
- You agree to these terms when you create an account. The sign-up screen links to them and to our Privacy Policy, and we keep a record of which version you accepted and when.
- Swapsy is UK only. You must live in the UK, and only list bikes that are in the UK.
You must verify your email address and add a real profile photo before you can list a bike, send a request or chat. Riders who use Sign in with Apple are verified through Apple.
Buying. You don't need a bike of your own to buy one. You do need a profile photo, and your account must be at least a day (24 hours) old before you can send a request to buy. This helps keep scammers off Swapsy.
4. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your login safe. Don't share your password. You're responsible for what happens on your account unless someone else got in without it being your fault. If you think someone has, tell us straight away.
- Your username and profile (photo, name, bio, county, bikes and their asking prices, deals, rating and feedback) are public. Other riders never see your email address or your exact location. They see roughly how far away you are, for example "~7 mi away". See our Privacy Policy.
- Usernames can't pose as us. A username can't include "Swapsy" or "SteadyGen", or words such as admin, support, official, moderator or staff. Display names can't either.
- No contact details in names or bike details. Your display name, and a bike's make and model, can't include a phone number, an email address or a link. Keep contact in the app.
5. Listing a bike
Three ways to list. When you list a bike, you choose one:
- Swap only. You'd swap it for another bike, with cash on top if the values differ. If you aren't actively looking but would consider a swap if someone asks, you can tick Open to swap offers. Those bikes show a little lower in Swaps.
- For sale at a fixed price. Buyers can ask to buy it at your asking price.
- For sale or swap. You're happy either way, and the bike shows in both Swaps and Buy.
You can change your choice later. If the bike has open requests the new choice wouldn't allow, decline them first.
Asking prices are public. On a bike for sale, everyone can see the asking price. It's also the bike's value when the app works out cash in a swap. Prices are in whole pounds, up to £20,000.
Up to 3 bikes for sale. You can have up to 3 bikes listed as For sale or For sale or swap at once, including bikes with a sale agreed. This helps keep Swapsy for private riders. If you complete 6 or more deals in 12 months, we may contact you to check that you aren't buying and selling as a business.
When you list a bike, you promise that:
- It's your bike. You're the owner, and you have the right to swap or sell it. If there's finance on it, you'll clear it before the swap or sale.
- Your description is accurate and honest. It covers the make, model, year, mileage, condition, engine size or motor power, MOT, service history, V5C status and whether the bike is road legal. If you know about damage, faults, or an insurance write-off (and its category), say so. Don't leave things out to make the bike look better.
- "N/A" means N/A. The app asks you to fill in every field or mark it N/A. Only use N/A when a field really doesn't apply or you really don't know. Listings with N/A for the MOT, V5C or registration are flagged to other riders, except off-road bikes (below) and electric bikes.
- The photos are of this bike, and they're yours. You need at least 4 photos (the whole bike, both sides and the odometer or display, if it has one) and can add up to 12. Use photos you took yourself or have the right to use. Never use stock photos, dealer photos or other people's pictures.
- Off-road bikes are listed as "Off-road only – not road legal". This is for bikes with no MOT, V5C or number plate, such as motocross bikes and electric off-road bikes like a Sur-Ron with no plate, and for bikes that aren't road legal for another reason (see section 6). When you list one, you confirm that you understand it isn't road legal, and that you won't describe it as road legal or allow test rides on public roads.
- The frame number is right. Off-road bikes and electric bikes need a frame number, and road bikes can have one. It's kept private: only you can see it until you agree a deal. Then the rider you agreed it with can see it, so you can check it together at the handover.
- Your proof of purchase answer is true. The app asks whether you have a receipt or invoice with the frame number on it. You must answer for off-road bikes and electric bikes. Other riders see your yes or no answer, and a buyer can ask to see it at the handover.
- The estimated value and the asking price are your own figures. The app can suggest a rough value. That suggestion is only a guide, not a professional valuation, and you decide the value or price you list.
- It isn't a prohibited item (see section 6).
Your full number plate is never shown to other riders. They see a masked version, such as "AB21 •••".
When a deal is agreed, the bike stays on Swapsy, greyed out, with a "Swap agreed" or "Sale agreed" banner. Its details are frozen and nobody can send a request on it. When the deal is complete, the bike comes off Swapsy, and a bike you sold is marked Sold. If the deal is cancelled, the bike goes back to normal.
You can withdraw a listing at any time it isn't in an agreed deal. If you sell a bike outside Swapsy, mark it as sold or withdraw it.
We can remove any listing that breaks these terms.
6. Prohibited items policy
This section is part of these terms, and also works as Swapsy's stand-alone Prohibited Items Policy.
What you can list: motorbikes, electric motorbikes and electric bikes that you own, located in the UK.
What you can't list or do on Swapsy:
- Nothing stolen, and no parts you can't prove are yours. This includes bikes with tampered or missing frame or engine numbers, and bikes on cloned or false plates.
- No illegal or unroadworthy vehicles sold as road legal. Non-runners and project bikes are fine if you list them as "For Parts & Repair" and describe them honestly. Off-road bikes are fine if you list them as "Off-road only – not road legal" (see section 5). In particular:
- Pedal e-bikes. The app asks whether an electric bike's motor can move it faster than 4 mph without pedalling, for example with a throttle. If it can, it isn't a legal pedal e-bike, and it's listed as an off-road electric motorbike. An electric bike that doesn't meet the UK rules for electrically assisted pedal cycles can't be ridden on the road unless it's registered, taxed and insured, so don't describe it as road legal.
- Derestricted bikes. If an electric motorbike has been derestricted, or had its power or speed limit changed, it isn't road legal. It must be listed as off-road only.
- Never describe an off-road bike as road legal, offer a test ride on a public road, or suggest it can be ridden home.
- Bikes only: motorbikes and electric bikes. No other vehicles, loose parts or other items for now. Children's sizes (such as 50cc to 85cc motocross bikes) and pit bikes can't be listed yet.
- No bikes with outstanding finance, unless the finance is fully cleared before the swap or sale.
- No deposits or payments before the handover, and keep the chat in Swapsy. Never ask for a deposit, for money before the handover, for a "friends and family" payment, or for a courier to collect.
- Private riders only. No more than 3 bikes for sale at once.
What happens if these rules are broken: we remove the listing, and we may suspend the account. If we're told a bike is stolen, we remove the listing, flag it so it can't go live again, and may suspend the account. The flag is tied to that listing, not the plate, so it doesn't automatically stop the same plate being listed again. Where the law allows, we may share information with the police.
Seen something that breaks these rules? Tap Report on the listing, profile or deal. You don't need an account to report a bike: on any listing, tap Report this bike to email us with the listing's ID. If you think a bike is stolen, don't confront anyone. Call the police on 101, or 999 if a crime is happening now, and report it to us as well.
7. Requests, counter-offers and agreed deals
Sending a request.
- To swap, you offer one of your listed bikes for another rider's bike. If the values differ, you can add cash or ask for cash. A cash top-up can be up to £20,000, in whole pounds.
- To buy, you ask to buy a bike at its asking price. You can't offer less than the asking price.
- The app writes your first message. It's made from the bikes and the money, for example "Hi Tom, I'd like to buy your 2021 KTM 390 Duke for £4,500, paid at the handover." You can't add your own words to a first request, and the bike names are saved when you send it.
Waiting for a reply. The rider you asked can accept, send a counter-offer, reply or decline. Nobody can chat until they accept, counter or reply. Then the chat opens. If they decline, the request closes.
Limits. To keep Swapsy fair, and so nobody gets pestered:
- you can have up to 5 requests waiting for an answer at once, and one request per bike;
- you can send up to 10 new requests in any 24 hours;
- if a rider declines your request, you can ask about the same bike again after 30 days;
- if you withdraw a request, you can ask about the same bike again after 7 days.
When requests close on their own.
- If the rider you asked doesn't reply within 7 days, the request closes.
- Once you're chatting, the request stays open while you keep talking. It closes after 7 days with no new messages or offers.
- If a bike in the request is agreed in another deal, or is no longer listed, the request closes.
The app closes requests automatically and tells both riders.
Counter-offers. In a swap, either rider can send a counter-offer. In a sale, only the seller can, by offering a different price (in whole pounds, up to £20,000). The buyer can accept the price or decline. Every request and counter-offer is saved in the deal, so you can both see exactly what was proposed.
Accepting agrees the deal. When a request or counter-offer is accepted, its terms are agreed and locked: which bikes are swapped or sold, the price or any cash top-up, and who pays it. Agreed terms can't be edited. The bikes show as "Swap agreed" or "Sale agreed", other open requests on them close, and nobody can send new ones.
Off-road bikes. If you'd receive a bike that's off-road only, the app asks you to confirm that you understand it isn't road legal before you send or accept the request (see section 10).
Changing your mind. You can withdraw your request before it's agreed. Either of you can cancel an agreed deal until one of you taps Deal complete. To change the terms, cancel and send a new request. Please treat an agreed deal as a promise. Backing out without good reason, or not turning up, can be reported.
Quiet deals. If an agreed deal has no activity (no messages, meetup or "Deal complete") for 3 days, the app may cancel it and free the bikes. A deal won't be cancelled this way until at least 48 hours after an agreed meetup time. If only one of you has tapped "Deal complete", the deal goes to Swapsy support to review instead.
Deal complete. At the handover, each of you taps Deal complete once you have everything: the bike, the keys, the paperwork and the money. When both of you have tapped it, the deal is finished and can't be undone in the app. A sold bike is marked Sold, and a swapped bike comes off Swapsy.
Swapsy keeps a record of the requests, counter-offers and agreed terms, but the agreement itself is between you and the other rider.
8. Paying at the handover
Swapsy doesn't take payments. In this version:
- Pay face to face, at the handover. The price of a sale, and any cash top-up in a swap, is paid in person when you meet: in cash, or by bank transfer while you're together. Nothing is paid through the app.
- Never pay a deposit, or anything before you've seen the bike. Nobody on Swapsy needs a deposit. A request for one is a common scam sign, so please report it.
- No couriers, no "friends and family" payments, and no one collecting for the seller. Don't pay by gift card or crypto, and don't move the deal off Swapsy to pay.
- Up to £20,000. Asking prices, counter-offers and cash top-ups can each be up to £20,000. This limits the money anyone brings to a handover.
- Swapsy doesn't take, hold, protect or refund money. There's no payment protection, and we can't get money back for you if something goes wrong. If you think you've been scammed, contact your bank straight away, and report it to Action Fraud and to us.
- The money must be with you before the keys change hands. Count cash together. For a bank transfer, wait until the money shows in your own banking app. A screenshot, email or text isn't proof.
9. Meeting up and handing over safely
You arrange the meetup in the app. To stay safe:
- Meet somewhere public and busy, in daylight. A supermarket car park or petrol station is ideal. Never meet at a home address.
- Check the V5C against photo ID. The name on the V5C logbook should match the rider's driving licence or passport. If it doesn't, don't go ahead.
- Check the bike and its numbers. Make sure the bike, its number plate and its frame and engine numbers match the listing and the V5C. Once a deal is agreed, the handover checklist shows the frame number from the listing, so you can check it against the number stamped on the frame. An off-road bike has no V5C, so check its frame number against the proof of purchase instead. For a pedal e-bike, you can use BikeRegister's free check to see whether it's been registered as stolen.
- Test ride only with your own insurance in place. Don't let anyone ride your bike unless they're insured to, and never test ride an off-road bike on a public road.
- Make sure the money is with you before the keys change hands (see section 8).
- Bring someone with you if you can, and trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, walk away and report it.
If a listing offers delivery, you arrange it with the other rider. Swapsy doesn't arrange or insure delivery.
10. Your responsibilities as a buyer, seller and keeper
In a sale, one of you is the seller and the other is the buyer. In a swap, each of you is both. You're responsible for your own side of the deal.
For the bike you're selling or giving:
- Ownership: you must own it and have the right to sell or swap it.
- Finance: you must clear any outstanding finance first. A bike on finance usually belongs to the finance company until it's paid off.
- Roadworthiness: it's an offence to sell an unroadworthy vehicle for use on the road. If the bike isn't roadworthy, say so clearly.
- Off-road bikes: sell it as off-road only, and make sure the other rider knows it isn't road legal.
- DVLA: if the bike has a V5C, tell DVLA that you've sold or transferred the bike to the new keeper. You can do this online on GOV.UK. Then give the new keeper the V5C/2 "new keeper" slip.
For the bike you're buying or getting:
- Off-road bikes: before you ask for or accept a bike that's off-road only, the app asks you to confirm that you understand it isn't road legal and can't be ridden on public roads, including riding it home. We keep a record of that confirmation in the deal.
- Insurance: have insurance in place before you ride it away.
- Vehicle tax: tax doesn't transfer with the bike, so tax it in your name before you ride it on the road.
- MOT: check the bike has a valid MOT if it needs one.
- Your own checks: Swapsy doesn't run any checks for you. Before you meet, ask the other rider for the full number plate in the chat. Then:
- use the free MOT history check and vehicle enquiry services on GOV.UK;
- consider a paid vehicle history check (such as HPI) for outstanding finance, theft and write-off records.
- Inspect the bike: look it over properly, and don't tap "Deal complete" until you're happy.
Private sales come with fewer legal rights than buying from a dealer. A private seller must describe the bike accurately, but it usually doesn't have to come with any guarantee of quality. Check carefully before you commit.
11. Chat and how to behave
Chat opens after a reply. In a new request, nobody can type anything until the rider who was asked accepts, sends a counter-offer or replies. After that, deal chats are private between the two riders. Swapsy support can read a deal's chat if it's reported, if a problem is raised on it, or if the law requires it. The app automatically watches for common scam signs, such as asking for a deposit or for money before the handover, couriers, "friends and family" payments, or moving the chat off Swapsy, and shows a warning in the chat.
Swapsy has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. We remove content that breaks these rules, and we may suspend or close the accounts involved (see section 14).
When you use Swapsy, don't:
- mislead, scam or pressure other riders;
- harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone;
- post anything illegal, sexual, hateful or violent, or anything that isn't about swapping, buying or selling bikes;
- share someone else's personal details;
- push other riders to pay a deposit, pay before the handover, or move the chat off Swapsy;
- spam, use bots or automated tools, or scrape data from the app;
- try to get into other people's accounts, or to break, overload or get round the app's security or its limits.
The app checks what you write for slurs and swearing. It won't accept slurs anywhere. It won't publish swearing in usernames, names, bios, listings or feedback, and in deal chats it replaces swear words with asterisks. The check is basic, so the rules above still apply to anything it misses.
12. Feedback
When a deal is complete, each rider can leave feedback for the other: 1 to 5 stars and an optional comment of up to 280 characters. Each rider can leave feedback once per deal. Feedback is public and appears on the rider's profile.
Feedback must be honest and about the real deal. Don't leave fake feedback. Don't offer, ask for or accept anything in return for feedback, and don't threaten bad feedback to get your way. Once you've posted feedback, you can't change it. We may remove feedback that breaks these terms.
13. Reporting, blocking and problems with a deal
- Report: you can report a listing, a profile or a deal. The reasons include Asked for a deposit or early payment and Trader posing as private seller, for someone who sells bikes as a business while posing as a private rider. Reports go to the Swapsy team, not to the other rider, and we don't tell them who reported them. At this stage, real people at SteadyGen review every report. Don't make false reports.
- Block: you can block another rider. You'll be hidden from each other's bikes, profile and messages, and open requests between you close. They may be able to tell that they've been blocked. To unblock someone, go to Settings > Privacy & safety > Blocked riders and tap Unblock.
- Problem with a deal: tap Report a problem in the deal. The deal is paused while we take a look, and we'll post the outcome in the deal. We can review what happened and take action on listings and accounts. We can't return a bike or recover money, and we can't decide who owns a bike. For theft, fraud or violence, contact the police.
14. Suspension and removal
We may remove a listing, remove content, or suspend or close an account if:
- someone breaks these terms or the prohibited items policy;
- we reasonably suspect fraud, theft, trading as a business, or a risk to other riders;
- we're required to by law.
What suspension means: your live bikes and bikes in an agreed deal are taken off Swapsy, and nobody can send requests on your bikes. You can't list, send or answer requests, chat or leave feedback. You can still sign in and browse, and you can delete your account in the app at any time (see section 19), but deleting it doesn't end the suspension. If we lift the suspension, the bikes we took down go back on Swapsy, except one that was in a deal that hasn't been settled yet.
Where we can, we'll tell you which listing or account was affected and why. Removed listings show a reason. If you think we've got it wrong, email info@steadygen.co.uk from the address on your account and we'll take another look.
15. Fees
- Swapsy is free during early access. We don't charge for creating an account, listing, sending requests, chatting, swapping or selling.
- Founding members: riders who join during early access get a founding member badge on their profile.
- Future fees: if we ever introduce a fee or a paid feature, such as in-app payment protection, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it starts. You'll always see the price before you're charged anything.
- Your own costs: you pay your own costs, such as travel, history checks, insurance, tax and any delivery.
16. Your content and our rights
Your content stays yours. You own the photos, descriptions, messages and feedback you post. By posting them, you give SteadyGen Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize and display them, so that we can run Swapsy and show them to other riders. We won't use your photos or listings in Swapsy marketing or advertising outside the app without asking you first.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. The exceptions are copies we keep as described in section 19 and in our Privacy Policy, such as completed deal records and feedback.
You must have the right to post it. Only post content you own or have permission to use. If you believe something on Swapsy infringes your rights, email us.
Our content: the Swapsy name, logo, app design and software belong to SteadyGen Ltd. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. Don't copy, sell or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows you to.
17. The app itself
- We'll use reasonable care and skill to run Swapsy. Because it's a new, early-access app, we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or have every feature.
- We may change the app. We may add, change or remove features. We'll tell you about changes that affect you significantly.
- Updates. Some changes need the latest version of the app. If yours is too old, the app asks you to update before you carry on.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, Swapsy sends deal updates to your phone, and everything also lands in the app's inbox. Notifications can be late or go missing, so open the app if you're expecting a reply.
- Distances and valuations are approximate. They're shown to help you, not as exact figures.
- Your phone: you need a compatible iPhone or Android phone and an internet connection. Your mobile network may charge you for data.
18. Our responsibility to you
What we're responsible for. If we break these terms or don't use reasonable care and skill, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you started using Swapsy.
What we're not responsible for. We're not part of your deals, so we're not responsible for:
- what other riders do or say;
- the condition, history, ownership or legality of any bike;
- money paid in person, in cash or by bank transfer;
- anything that happens at a meetup, test ride or handover;
- a deal falling through.
This doesn't apply where the loss was caused by us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're also not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Personal use only. Swapsy is for personal use. We're not responsible for business losses, such as lost profit or lost business opportunities.
Limit. Swapsy is free, so where we are responsible, our total liability to you is limited to £100. This limit doesn't apply to the things listed in the next paragraph.
What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability:
- for death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit or exclude.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. For advice about your rights, contact Citizens Advice.
19. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app's Settings, even while it's suspended (a suspended account also gets a Delete my account button when you sign in). For your security, you may be asked to sign in again first. If a handover is in progress or a problem report is open on one of your deals, finish or report that deal first. That doesn't apply to a suspended account, which can't finish or report a deal.
When you delete your account:
- your sign-in, profile, username, photos, bike alerts, saved bikes, notification settings and inbox are deleted;
- your live and draft listings are withdrawn;
- your open requests, and deals that haven't reached the handover, are cancelled.
If your account is suspended, your listings were already taken down, and your open deals stay as they are: the other rider can still close them, and we review any that are stuck. Your username stays reserved, and you can't set up a new account with the same email address or Apple ID: deleting a suspended account doesn't lift the suspension. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep for this.
Some records shared with other riders are kept, usually for 6 years: your deals and their chat messages, feedback you've left and received, and your listings' details (without photos). Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep and for how long.
We can close your account as described in section 14. We may also close Swapsy altogether. If we do, we'll give you reasonable notice wherever we can.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add in-app payments, history checks or new areas, or when the law changes.
- For changes that matter, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
- Small changes, such as correcting a typo, or changes the law requires straight away, may take effect sooner.
- If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect.
- The latest version is always at https://steadygen.co.uk/swapsy/terms, and there's a copy at https://swapsy-75a81.web.app/terms.
What changed in version 1.1. Swapsy now lets riders buy and sell bikes, as well as swap them. If you accepted version 1.0, the app asks you to accept version 1.1. It shows this summary:
- Buying at the seller's fixed price, up to £20,000, paid face to face at the handover by cash or bank transfer. Never a deposit.
- First messages written by the app, with chat once the other rider replies.
- Limits: 5 open requests, 10 new requests a day, up to 3 bikes for sale at once, and cash top-ups up to £20,000.
- Private frame numbers for off-road bikes and electric bikes, shared with the rider you agree a deal with.
You can tap Not now and keep browsing, but the app asks you to accept version 1.1 before you do anything else with your account, such as listing a bike, sending or answering a request, or chatting. We keep a record of the version you accepted and when. If you don't want to accept, you can delete your account (see section 19).
21. Getting Swapsy from the App Store
These terms are between you and SteadyGen Ltd, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Swapsy, its content or support, or for any claim about it. Apple's own terms also apply to how you download and use apps from the App Store. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms as they relate to your licence to use the app.
22. Complaints and the law
Complaints: if you're unhappy with Swapsy, or with a decision we've made about your content or account, email info@steadygen.co.uk. Tell us what happened, and we'll look into it and reply as soon as we can.
The law: these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
The rest of these terms: if a court decides that part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else.
